A thrilling win from our First Grade Women’s Team capped off the weekend’s action, which saw fantastic results from our Bulls FC Academy teams.
The First Grade Women’s team courageous efforts on Sunday secured a fantastic victory for the Bulls against the Emerging Jets.
The first half started with some fantastic chances from Amy Chessari, Avaani Prakash, and Erica Di Sciascio, as well as some amazing saves from Trudy Simmons. However, it was the second half that had everyone on the edge of their seats.
Jessica Seaman opened the scoring for the Bulls in the 53rd minute after a free kick into the box from Isabella Volkanovski fell into Jessica’s path. She volleyed it into the back of the net, which was just what the Bulls needed.
Only six minutes later, Peta Trimis doubled the Bulls’ lead after the Jets were unable to take control of the ball. Peta Trimis took advantage of the Jets’ mistake and calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net. The Jets managed to pull one back, but it wasn’t enough. In the 91st minute, Peta Trimis secured the three points for the Bulls by winning a one-on-one with the Jets’ keeper and sliding the ball into an open goal.
The Reserves were unfortunately defeated by the Emerging Jets on Sunday.
The U16 Girls collected three points over the weekend after they defeated Emerging Jets at home. Unfortunately, despite their courageous efforts, the U14s, U15s and U18s were defeated at Northbridge Oval.
The U13s Boys continued their fantastic win streak, after defeating Blacktown Spartans on Saturday. The U14s, U15s ad U18s also collected three points over the weekend. Unfortunately, the U16s were defeated on Saturday.
The First Grade Men’s team fought hard on Friday night, but they were unfortunately defeated by Wollongong Wolves. The Wolves opened the scoring early and doubled their lead in the 18th minute. The Bulls fought back hard, with two fantastic chances from Mason Wells and Eddie Caspers, as well as a stunning save from Griffin Barry capping off the first half.
The second half saw some more amazing saves from Griffin Barry. The Bulls continued to knock down the Wolves’ defences, but they were unable to break the deadlock, ending the match in a 2 – 0 loss.
The U20s celebrated a fantastic win on Friday, after a goal from Gildas Gomwikezwa secured the three points for the Bulls against Wollongong Wolves.
