Vickery: “Every Game is a Must Win”

It’s the final match of a three-game stint in nine days, and the Bulls are ready to bounce back from their home loss to Perth Glory.

With three points on the line, Luke Vickery spoke to us ahead of the Bulls’ Friday night clash against Melbourne Victory.

Reflecting on the loss to Perth Glory, Vickery admitted that the team would take it in stride, reviewing the match and focusing on the positives for their upcoming game.

“Not the best performance on the weekend.
We know that and we reviewed it, so we just move on and take the positives from previous weeks to be confident going into the Victory game.”

“No excuses. We’ve been working hard in training, reviewing things, and working on ourselves.”

“We’re definitely ready for this Victory game.”

Vickery also emphasised that this was a must-win match for both Melbourne Victory and the Bulls, highlighting the importance of securing points, especially early in the season.

“Every game is a must-win, especially when you want to make the six, regardless of your position on the table.”

Vickery opened his scoring account for the Bulls in their AFC Champions League 2 match against Tai Po FC, scoring both goals to seal qualification to the Round of 16. Reflecting on the achievement, Vickery is proud of his impact in the competition.

“That was a pretty special moment, individually but also for the club, making it through.
Myself and the club always take that as a positive, and we’re super confident from that performance.”

Hailing from Melbourne, Vickery spoke about his thoughts on Melbourne Victory, eager to secure the three points on Friday.

“Never been the biggest fan of them. They’ve always been a bit of a rival.”
