Macarthur Bulls FC can confirm the departure of goalkeeper Filip Kurto following the conclusion of the 2025/26 A-League season.
Kurto joined the Bulls during the 2021/22 season and quickly established himself as a key figure at the club. Across his time in Bulls colours, he became the club’s most capped player, making 145 appearances across all competitions. Throughout his tenure, Kurto produced countless outstanding saves and memorable performances between the posts.
A vital part of the club’s success, Kurto helped the Bulls secure two Australia Cup titles in three years, starting in both finals against Sydney United 58 FC in 2022 and Melbourne Victory FC in 2024. He also recorded 33 clean sheets and remained a consistent presence through every stage of the Bulls’ journey.
Known for his shot-stopping ability and composure in high-pressure moments, Kurto became a fan favourite among the Bulls faithful. His influence extended far beyond the pitch, regularly attending grassroots clubs, community events, School Holiday Clinics and initiatives across South West Sydney, where he inspired many young goalkeepers throughout the region.
Reflecting on his time at the club, Kurto spoke fondly about his experiences in Bulls colours.
“I’ve enjoyed my time here, on the pitch, even travelling to Asia. Everything stays in my heart, in my mind, for the rest of my life,” said Kurto.
“I’m happy that I was a part of this growing club. I know the club is going in the right direction and will grow even more in the future.”
“I want to thank the Bulls for these four amazing years and wish you all the best in the future. Let’s go Bulls!”
Kurto has played a significant role in shaping the club into what it is today, and we thank him for his dedication, professionalism and contribution to Macarthur Bulls FC. We wish Filip all the very best for the future.
