Adam Federici appointed as Bulls Captain

Macarthur FC are delighted to announce Adam Federici has been officially appointed the club’s new captain ahead of the A-League 2021/22 season.

One of the most experienced players in the Bulls squad, Federici picks up the armband following inaugural club captain and fellow former Socceroo, Mark Milligan’s retirement at the end of the 2020/21 season.

The 6-foot-2 shot-stopper has a wealth of topflight experience, appearing in over 280 matches across the English Premier and Championship leagues and was instrumental in the success the Bulls achieved in our first A-League campaign.

Speaking on his appointment, Federici said it will be a tremendous privilege wearing the armband and is an honour to relish the extra responsibility.

“It is very special to be given an opportunity like this and I am very proud and honoured to be named Captain.

“Working alongside Milligan last year, I know the dedication and expectation required for the role but I am privileged to follow in his steps and be the best Captain I can be.

“With dates set for the season, we’re now looking to work towards this. It’s a great feeling to know we will be back at Campbelltown in November and I’m excited to lead the Bulls out of Campbelltown Stadium in front of fans.” said Adam.

Speaking on Federici’s appointment as Captain, Macarthur FC Head Coach, Ante Milicic said he is very enthusiastic to have Adam take the armband and be our Captain of Macarthur FC.

“Adam is a natural leader and we saw this last year when he was captain for a few games. We have seen what he has achieved internationally and in the past season in the A-League. His experience and knowledge of what is required to be successful, will be the driven standard amongst the playing group.

“He is someone who strives for team excellence every day and has the respect and trust of the entire football club to be a brilliant captain.” Milicic said.
