Bulls are back into the top six after late winner

Macarthur FC managed to get all three points late in the game after defeating Brisbane Roar 2-1 at Campbelltown Stadium.

The majority of the first half was a slow pace, seeing The Roar have most of the control. Still, The Bulls only needed one chance, and it was well executed by club captain, Ulises Davila, scoring before the break.

In the second half, Brisbane took it up a gear, creating several opportunities before finding the equaliser. However, Jake McGing arrived at the right time to slot the ball home to seal the victory.

“It wasn’t one of our better performances, but delighted with the three points at home,” says Macarthur coach Ante Milicic. There [have] been times this year where we’ve played well and we haven’t got what we deserved, but at this stage of the season, it’s important to pick up maximum points, particularly at home.

“Full credit to Brisbane, not only the way they approached the game and played the way they did tonight, but during the analysis of the opposition, they’ve been playing very good football and are difficult opponent as we expected tonight.

“So, delighted with our boys, they found a way to win, they refused to lose, and we go home delighted.”
