The Bulls finally earned three points, breaking a six-game winless streak, as they defeated Brisbane Roar in a thrilling clash at Suncorp Stadium.
Securing three points in Brisbane, the Bulls concluded their six-game winless streak by defeating Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium. The first half began slowly, with both teams battling it out in the midfield. However, it was the Bulls who opened the scoring in the 16th minute, thanks to the dynamic combo of Jed Drew and Ulises Davila on the right wing. Drew’s scorching run towards goal allowed him to thread the ball through to the captain, Ulises Davila, who buried it into the back of the net.
The Bulls maintained their lead throughout the remaining minutes of the first half, with goalkeeper Filip Kurto making comfortable saves to deny Brisbane’s advances. Davila’s goal provided the energy the Bulls needed for the second half to secure the three points.
In the 52nd minute, Valere Germain and Raphael Borges Rodrigues teamed up on the counterattack to double the score for the Bulls. Germain maneuvered through Brisbane’s defenses and planted the perfect cross for Raphael to tap the ball into the back of the net.
Six minutes later, the Bulls scored their third goal, with Raphael’s shot rattling the woodwork and providing the perfect follow-up for Jed Drew to bury it into the back of the net. Although Brisbane managed to pull one back in the 61st minute, the Bulls continued to push for a fourth goal.
Yianni Nicolaou, Clayton Lewis, Bernardo Oliveira, and Jerry Skotadis all made appearances off the bench, replacing Jed Drew, Kealey Adamson, Raphael Borges Rodrigues, and Kearyn Baccus. Bernardo Oliveira made his debut in Bulls colors after signing with the team during the January transfer period.
Kurto continued his fantastic performance in goal, making clinical saves to deny Brisbane’s chances. Brisbane was reduced to 10 men in the 86th minute after Keegan Jelacic received a straight red card for a tackle on Clayton Lewis. The match ended in a 3-1 victory for the Bulls, adding three more points to their tally.
