A sunny afternoon in Adelaide ended in heartbreak for the Bulls, who fell to Adelaide United in a devastating 3–1 loss.
Tensions were high with a finals spot on the line, and Adelaide United standing in the way. The Bulls started strongly, with Mitchell Duke opening the scoring in the 7th minute with a stunning header, giving the visitors early momentum and belief.
The Bulls continued to push to extend their lead while keeping Adelaide at bay, thanks to a number of brilliant saves from Alex Robinson. They had another chance in the 36th minute following a great passage of play involving Anthony Caceres and Dean Bosnjak. Unfortunately, Caceres couldn’t control Bosnjak’s cutback and sent the ball over the crossbar.
The Bulls took their lead into halftime, but the second half proved decisive.
They held firm until the 62nd minute, when Adelaide found the equaliser. Adelaide then took the lead in the 74th minute before adding a third in the 88th. The Bulls fought hard to respond but were unable to find a way back.
The match ended in a disappointing loss for the Bulls, bringing their finals hopes to an end.
