Bulls share points with Jets

The return to Campbelltown Sports Stadium in 2024 for the Bulls featured a thrilling match against the Newcastle Jets.

On Friday night, the Bulls secured a point against the Newcastle Jets in an exhilarating match that saw a late equaliser. The Jets took the lead just 9 minutes into the game, with Clayton Taylor slipping through the Bulls’ defenses and burying the ball in the back of the net. Despite chances from Jed Drew and Valere Germain going just wide, the Bulls continued to press towards the goal.

Throughout the first half, the Bulls fought hard but were unable to break the deadlock. In the second half, the Bulls shifted their focus, intensifying their attacking efforts to secure the equaliser. Just 2 minutes into the second half, Ulises Davila appeared to have scored the equaliser, slipping through the Jets’ defences and slotting the ball into the net. Unfortunately, the goal was ruled offside by VAR.

Undeterred, the Bulls continued their momentum. Hollman, coming off the bench to replace Jed Drew, immediately made an impact, creating fantastic chances. Hollman and Davila combined for a goal-scoring opportunity, with Davila making a beautiful run and cross to Hollman, whose shot was saved. Matthew Jurman also had notable chances, with two headers narrowly missing the target. Lachlan Rose and Jerry Skotadis made appearances, substituting for Kearyn Baccus and Raphael Borgess Rodrigues.

The Bulls fought valiantly in the remaining minutes of the match. In the 97th minute, the Bulls were awarded a penalty after LA. Rose went down in the box. Germain took the penalty and powerfully buried the ball in the net, securing the equaliser for the Bulls.

The clash with the Newcastle Jets concluded in a 1-1 draw, as the Bulls shared points with the Jets at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
