Female Football at Macarthur FC

The Matilda’s Olympic journey may have come to an end, but female football at Macarthur FC is still going!

Recently, Macarthur FC held their first FREE School Holiday Clinics, supported by the NSW Government, for the Winter Holidays. The Bulls held both Mixed and Girls Only clinics at seven unique locations, with 29 clinics taking place over the duration of the holidays.

Out of the over 2100 kids who participated in these clinics, more than 1200 of them were girls. In the Girls Only Clinics, these girls participated in action-packed sessions teaching valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, and strategy. The highlight of each session was a thrilling Coach vs. Kids match, where the kids even had the chance to outplay the coaches!

In other Female Football news, our Bulls FC Academy, First Grade and Reserves Women’s teams have four rounds left to end their second season back in the NPL Women’s with a bang. Currently 8th on the table, our First Grade Women’s team still has a chance to reach the finals for the second year in a row.

Returning players, such as Avaani Prakash, and new signings like Daniella Naeimi have cemented their positions into the team. One of these players include Amber Luchtmeijer.

Luchtmeijer has had a breakout season at the Bulls, previously playing for Blacktown Spartans. During her short time at the Bulls, Luchtmeijer has scored a total of 21 goals, including a two hattricks. She will go on to join Sydney FC during their 2024/25 Liberty A-League season.
