Experienced goalkeeper Filip Kurto has committed to Macarthur FC for another season, signing a new contract for the 2023/24 Isuzu UTE A-League campaign.
The 31-year-old was coming off contract next month but says he had no hesitation remaining with the Bulls where he has been playing some of the best football of his career.
“I am very happy to play another season with the Bulls and to have finalised this new contract,” Kurto said. “I want to thank the club and Mile for extending my stay here. The coaching set-up and environment here has really helped my game and I look forward to that continuing next season in front of our fans.”
Praised as one of the A-League’s best by coach Mile Sterjovski, Kurto has been one of the most consistent goalkeepers this season. The former Polish youth international is one of just a handful of players yet to make an error leading to a goal in the competition, whilst also having made 19 major saves.
“Filip has proven to be one of the best shot stoppers in the league. We are delighted to have him stay with us for another season,” Bulls head coach Mile Sterjovski said.
Since arriving at the club in 2021, the former Polish youth international has amassed 50 appearances for the Bulls and helped Macarthur seal a first-ever trophy with the 2022 Australia Cup.
“Filip has consistently performed at a high level for the Bulls and we are pleased to have him at the club for another season,” Macarthur FC chief executive Sam Krslovic said.
