Jonathan Aspropotamitis Returns

Macarthur Bulls FC is proud to announce the return of Jonathan Aspropotamitis for the 2026/27 A-League season.

Aspropotamitis returns to the Bulls following a stint with K League 1 side Pohang Steelers, where he made 26 appearances and helped the club secure the Korean FA Cup.

Before his move to South Korea, Aspropotamitis was an important part of the Bulls’ squad, making 40 appearances for the club and playing a key role in the club’s Australia Cup triumph during the 2023/24 season, the first major piece of silverware in Macarthur Bulls FC history.

An experienced and composed defender, Aspropotamitis brings valuable leadership, quality and depth to the Bulls’ backline ahead of the new season.

Speaking on his return, Aspropotamitis said he is excited to be back at the club and ready to get back to work with the Bulls.

“It’s great to be back at the Bulls. I guess for me, coming back to Australia, there was only really one club I wanted to come back to.”

“Having grown up in Sydney and now my wife and I building our lives here, it was a no brainer to say yes to the Bulls when the club came calling. Seeing the squad that the club is building makes me excited as well to use my experiences overseas and help the group push forward next season.”

“As far as achievements go, I’ve been lucky enough to have been a part of one of the clubs Australia Cup successes, so I know that is high on the list in terms of achievements this season, to try and win that competition again.”

“In the A-League, a real focus is on getting the club back to the finals as it’s been a couple years since the club has played finals football. The club is building a great squad and there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be playing finals regularly.”
