Macarthur Bulls FC can confirm the departures of Rafael Duran, Kristian Popovic, Luke Brattan and Chris Ikonomidis following the conclusion of the 2025/26 A-League season.
All four players made a significant impact at the club, both on and off the pitch.
Rafael Duran joined the Bulls ahead of the 2025/26 season and made an immediate impression. The forward featured 24 times for the club, recording four goals and two assists during his time in South West Sydney. Off the field, Duran quickly became a fan favourite through his regular involvement in community events and engagement with the Bulls faithful.
Kristian Popovic became a much-loved figure within the South West Sydney community after arriving at the club during the 2023/24 season. A valued member of the squad, Popovic played an active role in the club’s community initiatives, regularly attending School Holiday Clinics and Grassroots Blitz events across the region.
Club captain Luke Brattan departs the Bulls after playing a pivotal role in the squad across the past two seasons. Brattan made 64 appearances for the club, scoring five goals and registering seven assists. He captained the Bulls to their second Australia Cup triumph in 2024 and led the side throughout both the 2024/25 and 2025/26 campaigns. During the 2025/26 season, Brattan also celebrated his 300th A-League appearance. His influence extended beyond the pitch, consistently making time to engage with the South West Sydney community.
Chris Ikonomidis joined the Bulls ahead of the 2024/25 season and quickly became a fan favourite. Across 35 appearances for the club, he scored six goals and provided four assists. Off the pitch, Ikonomidis was heavily involved within the South West Sydney community, attending grassroots clubs and various community events throughout his time at the club.
