Match Preview: Macarthur FC vs Adelaide United

Adelaide United are the stars of the late show this season, earning an extra nine points with goals scored after the 84-minute mark in six fixtures to date.

Their most recent last-gasp feat was an 85th-minute winner over champions Melbourne City on the road – and travelling to face a leaky Macarthur FC outfit will give Carl Veart’s side plenty of optimism about getting a result on Saturday night.

The Bulls started the season on fire, but have conceded 14 goals in their last five games, sliding out of premiership contention on the winless run (D2, L3).

Head Coach Ante Milicic said: “It’s been a congested schedule and of course with the travel and everything else we have had a positive few days on the pitch which is good leading into Saturday’s match.”

These professionals that we have and with what we have seen on the training pitch these last few days gives myself and the staff a lot of confidence that we’re in a situation where we can control our destiny for the remainder of the season.”

“I know Carl quite well and I know they prepare their teams very well and are a quality team but again it’s about our team and if we can get back to the basics, do what we do well and take the game to our opponent.”
