NPL NSW Wrap Up

Another round of NPL NSW matches comes to an end!

The Boys teams all walked away with points over the weekend, with the U14s, U16s and U18s sharing the points with Dulwich Hill FC. Both the U13s and U15s took home 3 points after maintaining clean sheets and defeating Dulwich Hill FC on Saturday.

It was an unfortunate weekend for the First Grade Men’s team, after they were defeated by Blacktown City FC. Jesper Webber opened the scoring for the Bulls after a fantastic assist from Ali Auglah in the 25th minute. The Bulls were unable to hold on to their lead, with Blacktown City FC scoring the equaliser and a second just before half time. The second half saw some fantastic chances, but it was Blacktown City who gained two more in the 67th and the 77th minute. The Bulls were unable to secure a second goal and lost to Blacktown City FC 4 – 1.

The Girls teams had an unfortunate Sunday, ending in each team being defeated by Northern Tigers FC at Northbridge Oval.

The First Grade Women’s team secured another 3 points over the weekend, after defeating Northern Tigers FC at Campbelltown Sports Stadium. Claudia Valletta opened the scoring for the Bulls just 4 minutes into the match, after a deflection from the Northern Tigers FC provided the assist for Valletta to bury it into the back of the net with a powerful header. The Bulls remained strong throughout the first half, with some great chances and strong defences. The second half saw Avaani Prakash double the lead just 30 seconds into the second half, after a fantastic cross in from Peta Trimis. The Bulls continued to press the Northern Tigers FC defences and managed to slip through, with Charlotte Lancaster securing the third of the afternoon. Northern Tigers managed to claw one back in the 87th minute but it wasn’t enough. The Bulls secured the win at Campbelltown Sports Stadium and moved up to second on the ladder.

The Reserves also had a fantastic afternoon on Sunday, after a late goal defeated Northern Tigers FC at Northbridge Oval. The Bulls held on strong throughout the entire game, but it was Kiara Farquhar who sealed the deal, scoring in the 90th minute and collecting the 3 points for the Reserves.
