NPL NSW Wrap Up

An impressive victory by our Under 20s Men’s team rounds out the weekend’s action, which delivered mixed outcomes across the divisions.

The U20s Men collected three points on Saturday after they defeated Marconi Stallions FC 1 – 3 at Marconi Stadium. Luka Sterjovski initiated the scoring for the Bulls in the 8th minute, followed by an own goal from Marconi and a goal from Gildas Gomwikezwa that solidified the Bulls’ victory.

Unfortunately, the First Grade Men’s team suffered another disheartening loss on Saturday against Marconi Stallions FC. Marconi opened the scoring in the 6th minute after they managed to slot the ball past the Bulls’ defenders. The Bulls fought back but Marconi managed to double their lead just 4 minutes later. Marconi added a third to the tally after they were awarded a penalty after the referee called a handball against the Bulls. In the 33rd minute, Marconi secured a fourth goal despite the Bulls’ best attempts.

The second half started off with an amazing chance for the Bulls from Stephan De Robillard, Mason Wells, and Ariath Piol, but they were unable to bury the ball into the back of the net. In the 55th minute, Marconi netted a fifth goal from a free kick just outside the box. The Bulls managed to pull one back after a beautiful run from Marco Arambasic, who slipped past Marconi’s defences and slotted the ball into the back of the net, concluding the match with a 5 – 1 loss for the Bulls.

The U18s Boys team move up to second on the ladder after they defeated St George FC 1 – 3 on Saturday. The U13s shared the points with St George on Saturday after they drew 2 – 2. The U14s, U15s, and U16s were unfortunately defeated.

The Girls fought bravely over the weekend, but they were unfortunately defeated by Manly United FC on Sunday.

The First Grade Women’s team had a nail-biting match against Manly United FC on Sunday, ending the match in a draw. The Bulls exhibited tenacity throughout the game, creating fantastic opportunities through players like Charlotte Lancaster, Tamires Souza, and Aideen Keane. Additionally, Trudy Simmons made spectacular saves to maintain a clean sheet for the Bulls. However, the team was unable to capitalise on these promising chances and secure a lead. Manly United struggled to get through the Bulls’ tight defences and bring down the brick wall, ending the match in a 0 – 0 draw, with the Bulls sharing the points with Manly United FC. The Reserves put up a brave fight over Manly United FC, but they were unfortunately defeated on Sunday.
