It was another fantastic weekend for our NSW NPL teams!
The Boys had an amazing weekend with every team walking away with points! The U13s, U14s, U15s and U16s all won their matches against Fraser Park FC. The U18s shared the points with Fraser Park FC, where they drew 1 – 1.
The First Grade Men’s have done it! On Sunday, they achieved their first win of the season, defeating Western Sydney Wanderers at Wanderers Football Park. The Wanderers seemed to dominate the first half, but they weren’t strong enough to break through the Bulls’ barrier. Robinson had another amazing performance, smothering every chance the Wanderers had. The second half started in a very similar fashion to the first but in the final 10 minutes of the match Rhys Youlley produced an absolute screamer of a free kick, securing the lead for the Bulls. The Bulls held on for the final 10 minutes, plus extra time, and finally earned their first win of the season! The U20s were unfortunately defeated by the Wanderers on Saturday but won their match against APIA Leichhardt on Wednesday, defeating them 2 – 3 at Lambert Park.
The Girls had another great weekend, with the U15s defeating Illawarra Stingrays 2 – 0 on Sunday. The U18s shared the points with the Stingrays after they drew 1 – 1. Unfortunately, both the U14s and U16s were defeated on Sunday.
The First Grade Women’s team walked away with another three points on the weekend, after they defeated the Illawarra Stingrays. The Bulls opened the scoring early with Daisy Cheesman managing to cross the ball into the box, Tamires Souza took advantage of the Stingrays’ confusion, securing the lead for the Bulls in the 7th minute. Peta Trimis yet again proved to be an absolute force, after making a fantastic run from the halfway point, cutting her way through the Stingrays’ defences and placing it into the top left corner of the net. Trimis doubled the Bulls’ lead in the 20th minute. The Bulls continued to fight hard throughout the second half and secured a 2 – 0 win over the Stingrays, ensuring back-to-back wins. The Reserves were also victorious over the weekend, defeating the Stingrays 1 – 0 at Northbridge Oval.
