Macarthur FC are delighted to announce Ulises Dávila has been officially named the Club’s new captain for the 2021/22 Isuzu Ute A-League season.
The appointment sees Dávila taking on the role following the recent announcement of Adam Federici’s retirement.
The 2020/21 Johnny Warren Medal winner said it will be a tremendous privilege wearing the captain’s armband.
“To be honest it was a big surprise, but I am very honoured they chose me as Captain. It’s a big challenge after Mark Milligan and Adam Federici, they are two Australian legends and have done a great job.
“I’m not a person who likes to talk a lot, but I will give my body and soul to ensure I’m a good leader through hard work and being a role model especially to the younger players.
“I am excited for our first game in front of fans and can’t wait to walk on the pitch wearing the captain band with pride for my club.” said Ulises.
Speaking on Dávila’s appointment as Captain, Macarthur FC Head Coach, Ante Milicic said he is very enthusiastic to have Ulises take the armband and be our Captain of Macarthur FC.
“Since joining the club, it was clear to me, and the football staff, that Ulises is a natural leader and someone who has all the attributes that represent our club.
“Ulises not only has the experience behind him but also the dedication and work ethic to be a great leader and example of what the club is all about. I have no doubt he will be a brilliant captain and will strive for the best.” Milicic said.
His first official test as captain will be when he leads the team in the club’s debut FFA cup match next Saturday night in Newcastle.
It won’t be until the following week when Bulls fans get to give their new captain and team a big home-crowd welcome at Campbelltown Stadium.
