Macarthur FC visited over 10,000 school children over the past 12 months across 30 primary and secondary schools across the Campbelltown, Camden, Wollondilly, and Southern Highlands areas with the Macarthur Square ‘Bulls in Schools’.
The Macarthur Square ‘Bulls in Schools’ is a free program that provides students with an active and educational program that focuses on teamwork, communication, physical movement and promoting a healthy lifestyle through football.
Macarthur FC Football Development Officer Jacob Poscoliero said despite the challenges and restrictions COVID-19 presented, the program was extremely well received.
“2020 has been an extremely challenging year for all of us. We had to rethink and design the program to suit the restrictions with schools and interacting with the students.
“Across all the schools the overwhelming response was extremely positive. The students and teachers found the sessions very fun and engaging.” Mr Poscoliero said.
“We’ve already had many schools wanting to be part of the program next year, which is great to see. Planning is well underway for 2021. We are aiming to reach an additional 20 schools and over 20,000 local school children participating in the program.” Mr Poscoliero added.
