A windy night ended in triumph for the Bulls as they claimed a hard-fought victory over Adelaide United on home turf.
It was a cool, crisp evening at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, but the Bulls were fired up from the opening whistle. Although Adelaide United dominated possession early, the Bulls remained dangerous on the counter. Callum Talbot nearly opened the scoring with a long-range effort that thundered off the woodwork.
The breakthrough finally came courtesy of Liam Rose, who netted a stunning strike, his first-ever A-League goal after 124 matches. Determined to protect their lead, the Bulls pressed hard for a clean sheet, with Filip Kurto producing several outstanding saves to keep Adelaide at bay.
However, Adelaide found an equaliser just before the break through Jonny Yull, sending both sides into halftime level.
The second half started cautiously, but the Bulls maintained their composure and continued to look for an opening. Adelaide threatened on several occasions, but the Bulls’ defence held strong.
In the 66th minute, Ji Dong-won delivered the decisive moment, scoring his first A-League goal to restore the Bulls’ lead. From there, the team fought relentlessly until the final whistle, securing all three points in front of a passionate home crowd at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
