An away trip to Wellington ended in dramatic fashion as the Bulls claimed all three points against Wellington Phoenix in the dying moments of the match.
It was a beautiful day in Wellington, and the Bulls looked refreshed after their much-needed break. The visitors started brightly, with Matt Jurman finding the back of the net early, only for the goal to be ruled offside. Minutes later, Ji Dong-won had a similar fate, with his finish also chalked off.
The Bulls continued to push in the first half, creating several chances through Sime Grzan and Luke Brattan. Brattan controlled the midfield, unlocking space and delivering creative passes that kept the Phoenix defence under pressure. Despite the momentum, the first half ended goalless with both sides still searching for the opener.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with the Bulls patiently waiting for the right moment to strike. In the 60th minute, Grzan went one-on-one with Wellington goalkeeper Josh Oluwayemi, who produced a strong save to deny him. Tomislav Uskok went close soon after, narrowly heading over the crossbar.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the dying moments of the match. Harry Sawyer showed great composure to chip the ball over Oluwayemi and into the net, sending the Bulls bench into celebration.
The Bulls held firm in the closing stages to preserve the clean sheet and secure a valuable three points away from home.
