A sweltering Friday night at Campbelltown Sports Stadium ended in a 0–0 draw as the Bulls took on Melbourne Victory.
It was an absolutely scorching day in Campbelltown, and things were only set to heat up further as the Bulls stepped onto the pitch to face Melbourne Victory, just five days after their home loss to Perth Glory. The heat only fuelled the fire under the Bulls’ feet as they aimed to walk away with all three points.
The first half saw both sides locked in an even contest, with action at both ends of the pitch. Harry Politidis produced several key defensive interventions to deny Victory, while also helping set up attacking opportunities for the Bulls. Victory thought they had found a breakthrough in the final minutes of the half, but their goal was overturned following a VAR review.
The Bulls headed into the sheds level with Victory at the break.
The second half started a bit slower for the Bulls as chances became few and far between for both teams. Harry Sawyer, Ji Dong-won, Frans Deli, Bernardo and Kristian Popović were all introduced to provide fresh legs and momentum.
Unfortunately for the Bulls, time wasn’t on their side. Despite pushing forward late, they were unable to convert their chances. Filip Kurto delivered a crucial save in the dying moments to secure a clean sheet.
The match ended in a 0–0 draw, with both teams taking a point from a hard-fought encounter.
