Academy Physiotherapist Position

Macarthur FC are on the hunt for a physiotherapist passionate about working in sport.


WHAT IS THE ROLE?
We are looking for an Academy Physiotherapist to join our Football Department on a part-time basis.


Reporting to the Head Physiotherapist and Assistant Physiotherapist, the role works collaboratively within the football department, ensuring the effective rehabilitation of players across our Academy and our NPL Women’s programs. The role’s core responsibilities include injury diagnosis, management and prevention.


This role will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the assessment and diagnosis of musculoskeletal
    conditions related to player’s injuries and the implementation of appropriate treatment and rehabilitation strategies;
  • Pre training management of players including screening, taping, manual therapy and administration of treatment as required;
  • Coordinating, assisting and /or covering match day for our Youth and Senior NPL Women’s program in conjunction with
    other Physiotherapy staff;
  • Liaising with our Assistant Physiotherapist with regard to bi-weekly injury clinics for our Academy and Women’s programs (Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Northbridge);
  • Match day coverage for our Women’s NPL program
    (Saturday or Sunday, times may vary depending on NPL
    fixture);
  • Close liaison with the Club Doctor, Strength & Conditioning staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team to optimise player medical care and performance;
  • Assistance with all NPL Women’s sessions as required;
  • Reporting of all injuries to the Assistant Physiotherapist and provide detailed updates on all player’s rehabilitation progress;
  • Complete comprehensive and confidential medical records for
    all relevant Academy and NPL players;
  • Advise Assistant Physiotherapist in regard to managing complex injuries and issues relating to injuries. Also, should the need arise refer cases on to the most appropriate clinic, specialist or rehabilitation environment;
  • Be a champion in promoting the values of the organisation and
    driving a positive and engaging culture into the community;
  • Ensure that all activities are performed in accordance with the
    governance and compliance requirements of Macarthur FC;

WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED?

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • AHPRA registered Physiotherapist
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to collaborate with teams
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft programs
  • Demonstrates ability to build relationships with internal and
    external groups and stakeholders
  • Driven, proactive and a positive self-motivating attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Results orientated
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Current right to work in Australia
  • A strong team player who is prepared to support other areas of
    the business as and when required
