Brattan: “It’s about Picking Up Points”

The Bulls mark their return to Campbelltown Sports Stadium with their annual Charity Round in support of Sony Foundation.

As part of the Charity Round, the Bulls will contest their third annual Charity Cup against local rivals Sydney FC.

With the weather set to be an absolute scorcher, Luke Brattan and the squad are preparing to take on their rivals and bring the heat on the pitch. Ahead of this fiery clash, Brattan spoke to the media about the conditions and how the Bulls are preparing.

“It’s not ideal, but it’s the situation we’re in and we’ve got to deal with it. So, yeah, just get on with it and try to win the game.”

The Bulls are currently on a six-game unbeaten run and will be looking to extend it to seven against Sydney FC. Brattan says the squad is confident in its abilities and ready to face whatever challenges the Sky Blues may present.

“When we don’t play well, we still get results, which is very pleasing because you’re going to go through form dips in the season and the good teams, when they’re not performing at their best, they’re still getting results.

“It’s very pleasing at the moment. I think that we’ve still got gears in us to improve and get better and better as well and obviously adding some players would help that.”

Sony Foundation, the charitable arm of the Sony Group, has partnered with the Bulls for five years. Being involved in a cause that supports young people makes Brattan proud to represent the club.

“The people, it helps. Last year was a big eye-opener.”

“I went to an event and it was a fantastic night. And to see the stories and everything that they do for people, it’s incredible. And to be a part of that is something we don’t take lightly as a club.”

With the Bulls aiming to continue their unbeaten run, Brattan emphasised the importance of collecting three points and gradually creating separation at the top end of the table.

“That’s the plan. It’s just about picking up points. If we take a 1-0 win, then we’ll do that.”

“That’s the mentality of the group at the moment. We want to do anything to win games and get results. If the goals come, the goals come.”

“It would be nice, obviously, confidence for the boys to get a few. Like I said before, they’re a fantastic team. It’s purely about three points.”
