Macarthur Bulls FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Bruno Berner as assistant coach for the club’s Isuzu UTE A-League squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Berner, 47, brings with him a wealth of experience across both domestic and international football, adding further strength to the Bulls’ coaching ranks.
He will work closely alongside head coach Mile Sterjovski, as the club prepares for an exciting season that includes campaigns in the A-League, Australia Cup, and AFC Champions League Two.
A UEFA Pro Licence holder, Berner has spent over a decade in coaching roles across Switzerland. His career has included stints as both assistant and head coach, with experience spanning youth development and senior football.
Notably, he has coached at international level with the Swiss U20 national team and most recently served as head coach of Swiss Super League outfit Grasshopper Club Zürich.
“It feels exciting, joining a A-League club who is ambitious and wants to move forward. I‘ve been told a lot about the supporters, so I really looking forward to meeting them and to experiencing a match day” he said.
“I always look for challenges. Our head coach Mile felt is was the right moment to challenge me by bringing me to Sydney. With my curiosity, enthusiasm and openness it felt the right thing to do.”
“Since deciding to go into management in 2012, I developed myself as a head coach and immediately recognized the importance of how a good coach can have a major impact to develop young players towards the professional football level.”
“Now this will be the first time me taking a role as an assistant. I am excited to get started and help Mile, the staff and the players.”
