Bulls Edge Out Sydney FC in Thrilling Clash

The Bulls faced off against local rivals Sydney FC in a tense Round 4 clash of the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League season, narrowly securing a 2-1 victory at Allianz Stadium.

The Bulls were keen to bounce back and assert dominance over their Sydney rivals after a loss to Melbourne Victory. The first half saw an early goal for Sydney FC ruled offside, sparking an intense response from the Bulls. Kealey Adamson forced a save from Sydney FCā€™s goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne, and both Marin Jakolis and Ariath Piol created strong chances, though neither could break the deadlock. Drama unfolded late in the half as Sydneyā€™s Hayden Matthews received a second yellow card, reducing them to 10 men and ending the half scoreless.

In the second half, the Bulls capitalised on Sydneyā€™s disadvantage. Ariath Piol finally opened the scoring in the 72nd minute with a spectacular bicycle kick, set up by a perfectly placed cross from Ivan Vujica.

Sydney FC equalised in the 87th minute, but the Bulls werenā€™t finished. In the final minute of extra time, Luke Brattan initiated a brilliant play, threading the ball to Captain ValĆØre Germain. Germain expertly set up Marin Jakolis, who drilled the ball into the back of the net, securing a last-minute win for the Bulls.

The Bulls walked away with three crucial points, defeating Sydney FC 2-1 in a hard-fought clash on rival turf.
