A stunning Saturday evening ended in relief for the Bulls as they secured a crucial three points, defeating Melbourne City on home turf.
The match began with the Bulls reverting to their usual tactics, patiently waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. Possession was limited for the home side, but they remained determined to capitalise on their chances. Melbourne City dominated much of the first half, but the Bulls fought back bravely. Jed Drew and Jake Hollman both had fantastic opportunities in front of goal but were unable to convert.
Filip Kurto delivered a standout performance between the posts, making several outstanding saves to deny City the advantage. Despite continued attacking efforts, the Bulls couldn’t find the back of the net, and the first half ended goalless.
The second half saw the Bulls come alive. Marin Jakoliš found himself in a perfect position to score, only to be denied by City’s goalkeeper Patrick Beach. However, the deadlock was finally broken in the 61st minute when captain Valère Germain buried the ball into the back of the net.
The Bulls continued to push forward while holding firm against City’s attacking threats. They defended resolutely until the final whistle, securing a clean sheet and a well-earned victory. With this result, the Bulls move up to third on the ladder.
