Bulls Secure Three Points on the Road

The Bulls wrapped up Round 13 with an impressive away win against the Newcastle Jets at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Sunday afternoon football was in full swing as the Bulls faced the Jets, beginning with a cautious start. Sticking to their tried-and-tested strategy, the Bulls focused on absorbing pressure while waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.

Jed Drew and Marin Jakoliš had early attempts on goal, but neither could convert. The Jets capitalised first, with Ben Gibson finding the back of the net in the 17th minute to give the home side the lead. Undeterred, the Bulls responded with determination.

The equaliser came through Germain, who broke through the Jets’ defence and slotted the ball home after a well-timed assist from Ivan Vujica. Level with the Jets, the Bulls intensified their efforts, battling fiercely in the midfield as both sides sought control of the match. The first half ended with even, setting the stage for an exciting second half.

The Bulls returned after the break with renewed energy. Bernardo entered the fray in the 55th minute, replacing Marin Jakoliš. True to form, the Bulls stayed patient, soaking up the Jets’ pressure while biding their time. Their persistence paid off when Jed Drew seized an opportunity in the 58th minute, slipping past the Jets’ defence and converting a rebound into the back of the net.

Determined to extend their lead, the Bulls kept pushing forward. Bernardo proved to be the difference-maker, delivering a stunning goal in injury time to double the advantage. The strike sealed a 3-1 victory for the Bulls, securing all three points on the road and capping off a thrilling encounter.
