Macarthur FC has bolstered its attack with the signing of Young Socceroos’ forward, Raphael Borges Rodrigues. The 19-year-old winger will call South West Sydney home for the next two seasons at least, signing with the Bulls until the end of the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
“I can’t wait to get started this season and continue my development with the Bulls,” Raphael said.
The teenager cited the influence of head coach Mile Sterjovski as one of the main reasons behind his decision to join the Bulls, where he believes his development will progress to the next level.
“I have heard great things about the club, the environment within the team and I’m really excited to get to work with Mile. I believe in the project he’s building at the club and how he wants to play. I want to contribute to the future success of the club,” he said.
Quick, skilful and a good eye for goal, Sterjovski believes Raphael is not only one to watch for the future but a player who can make a significant impact at Campbelltown Sports Stadium this season.
“We are really happy to have Raphael on board this season. He’s a talented youngster with a great future,” Sterjovski said.
“He’s already broken into the A-League, he has played for the Australian youth teams and we think he has got a bright career ahead of him. Raphael is an exciting attacking player and I think the Bulls’ fans will enjoy watching him this season.”
