Defeat at Home

The Bulls returned to Campbelltown Sports Stadium to kick off 2025 but went down 2–1 to Adelaide United.

Playing their first home game of the year on Monday, 6 January, the Bulls started strong, creating plenty of chances. Jed Drew came close early, with his shot just missing the target.

Adelaide thought they’d scored in the 10th minute, but the goal was ruled offside. Filip Kurto, known as “The Pole in Goal,” made some brilliant saves to keep Adelaide out. Marin Jakoliš and Ariath Piol kept pushing forward, trying to find a way through the defence.

Kealey Adamson had the best chance of the first half with a header that went just wide. Both teams went into the break locked at 0–0.

The second half started slower for the Bulls, but they soon created more chances through Drew, Jakoliš, and Piol. Bernardo and Randazzo came off the bench, adding fresh energy to the side.

The Bulls kept the pressure on, and Kurto continued to show why he’s one of the best keepers in the league. Defenders Oliver Jones and Kealey Adamson were solid at the back, clearing the danger when needed.

In the 79th minute, captain Valère Germain broke the deadlock with a brilliant header to give the Bulls the lead. But Adelaide hit back quickly, scoring in the 81st minute and again in injury time to take the win.

The Bulls fought hard to equalise but couldn’t find the back of the net. The match ended in a 2–1 loss, bringing their six-game unbeaten streak to an end.
