With a busy week ahead for the Bulls, Filip Kurto and Bruno Berner spoke to the media before their AFC Champions League 2 Match Day 5 clash against Tai Po FC.
With three games in nine days, the Bulls have an action-packed schedule, starting with the ACL2 meeting with Tai Po.
Before the match, goalkeeper Filip Kurto and assistant coach Bruno Berner discussed the upcoming fixtures and how the squad is managing the tight turnaround.
Reflecting on last Sunday’s win against Wellington, Berner said he hopes the team’s momentum will carry into their matches against Tai Po FC and Perth Glory.
“We had a great win last weekend so we want to take that flow into the other competition, the ACL 2.”
Berner also spoke about the differences between the A-League and the ACL2, while noting that the team’s preparation remains consistent across both competitions.
“We repeat ourselves all the time, it’s all about consistency and right now it looks like the team understands more and more what Mile [Sterjovski] wants, what kind of football he wants to play this season.”
“The moment you are more consistent, you give yourself a better chance to get results.”
Kurto, now a key figure at the club, has played a major role in many of the Bulls’ victories. However, he stressed that the team’s success is shared by everyone.
“It’s part of being goalkeeper, but I don’t feel I’m the face of the team. It’s an effort of all of us. Whatever we achieve, we achieve together.”
Having spent several years with the Bulls, Kurto says he is proud to be part of the squad and excited for the future.
“It’s great. We’re going in a good direction. I think it’s the plan for this club, is getting bigger and bigger.”
The Bulls are back in action this Sunday against Perth Glory at Campbelltown Sports Stadium. Kick-off is at 6:00pm so don’t miss a moment of the action!
