Jake Hollman: “We’ve Beaten Them Before, and We’re Confident We Can Do It Again”

As the Bulls prepare to take on local rivals Western Sydney Wanderers, Jake Hollman reflects on their recent draw against Western United and shares how the team is gearing up for this crucial clash.

In their last match, the Bulls staged a remarkable comeback to secure a point, with Hollman playing a key role by scoring one of the two crucial goals. While the team was frustrated not to take all three points, Hollman remains optimistic.

“We didn’t think it was our best game, but to come away with a point was good.”

“There have been weeks previously where we think we deserve the three points that we haven’t picked up. So we are trying to catch some points that we feel like we have dropped and we want to start with the Wanderers this weekend.”

Looking ahead to their upcoming match, Hollman acknowledges the Wanderers’ strengths but is confident that the Bulls can secure another victory—this time on enemy turf.

“They’re a great attacking team, but we’ve beat them already this season, and we’re confident we can do it again on the weekend.”

“We need the three points and we want to be pushing not just for finals football, but for top end of finals. We can start that by winning on the weekend against Wanderers.”

Reflecting on his personal journey this season, Hollman believes he’s hitting his stride at the right time.

“I don’t think the start of my season was where I finished off last season, but I’ve worked really hard to try and turn that around, and I think we’re starting to bear the fruits.”

With the A-League table tightly contested—just three points separating third from eighth—Hollman is confident the team has what it takes to push for finals football.

“We’ve got to stay focused and really concentrate for the full 95 minutes, or however long the game goes, and be better in certain situations.”
