It was another action-packed weekend for our NSW NPL teams!
The U15s and U18s Boys teams gained three more points over the weekend after defeating St George FC on Sunday. The U16s shared the points with St George FC after they drew 1 – 1 and the U13s and U14s were unfortunately defeated.
The First Grade Men’s team had two matches over the last week, with the first being against previous top of the ladder, Rockdale Ilinden. The Bulls started off strong, defending every possible chance Rockdale had. Wells opened the scoring for the Bulls after he followed up on his deflected shot, managing to pull a fast one on Rockdale’s keeper and tap the ball into the back of the net in the 41st minute. The second half saw Robinson pull of some fantastic saves, but Rockdale managed to claw back and gain an equaliser in the 67th minute. That, however, did not stop the Bulls. They kept fighting back and in the 79th minute after a beautiful run and cross from Garang, Auglah buried the ball into the back of the net, earing the Bulls their second win of the season.
The second match for the Bulls was on Saturday, where they were up against Marconi Stallions at Sydney United Sports Centre. Unfortunately, the Bulls were defeated on home soil. Marconi opened the scoring 4th minute and managed to gain two more in the 34th and 63rd minute. However, Marconi didn’t walk away with a clean sheet, as Sunday Yona managed to slip past their defences and score in the 76th minute. After Thep Thep received a red card after a second bookable offence, Marconi managed to gain a fourth, defeating the Bulls 1 – 4. The U20s were also unfortunately defeated by Marconi Stallions over the weekend.
It was a fantastic weekend for the Girls after every team walked away with a win! The U16s had an amazing match against Bankstown City FC, defeating them 0 – 4 at Jensen Park. The U14s, U16s and U18s all walked away with clean sheets.
The First Grade Women’s team put up a fight against Bankstown City after, after they drew at Jensen Park. The Bulls opened the scoring in the first minute of injury time, after Clout delivers a free kick into the box. Souza crossed the ball into the path of Seaman where, from her first touch, managed to chip it over the Bankstown City’s keeper and buried the ball into the back of the net. The second half saw some fantastic chances from the Bulls, but it was Souza who managed to double the lead after a brilliant shot from Corry bounced of the woodwork and right in front of Souza, where she managed to tap the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as Bankstown City FC managed to claw back and collect two goal sin the 74th and 79th minute. The Bulls held on until the end, where the final score was 2 – 2.
