NPL NSW Wrap Up

A fantastic win from our U13 Boys’ team rounds off the weekend action, which saw mixed results from our Bulls FC Academy teams.

An amazing 5-2 win over NWS Spirit from our U13 Boys seals their spot at the top of their ladder. The U15s, U16s, and U18s also won their matches against NWS Spirit, collecting another 3 points over the weekend. Unfortunately, the U14s were defeated.

The Bulls’ courageous efforts on Saturday secured a point against Sydney FC at Sydney United Sports Centre. Sydney FC opened the scoring in the 9th minute after an uncharacteristic mistake from Alexander Robinson. However, this did not stop the Bulls. Only a minute later, Sunday Yona secured the equalizer for the Bulls by chipping the ball over the Sydney FC keeper in the 11th minute. Throughout the remainder of the first half, the Bulls saw some fantastic chances from Eddie Caspers and Sunday Yona, as well as a stunning save from Alexander Robinson.

The second half started off with another incredible chance from Sunday Yona, but he couldn’t break through Sydney FC’s defenses. Alexander Robinson shone in the second half, making some amazing saves to keep the score level. The Bulls were unable to capitalize on their chances, ending the match in a 1-1 draw with Sydney FC.

The U20s also shared the points with Sydney FC after they drew 2-2. Jaidyn Dunn and Sebastian Hernandez were the goal scorers on Saturday.

The First Grade Women’s team shared the points with APIA Leichhardt on Sunday. The Bulls started off slow in the first half, with Trudy Simmons making some amazing saves to keep APIA from scoring. The momentum of the match changed in the 40th minute after Peta Trimis buried the ball into the back of the net following a stunning cross from Aideen Keane. This ignited the Bulls, with Elizabeth Grey extending their lead in injury time after slipping through APIA Leichhardt’s defenses and slotting the ball into the back of the net.

Unfortunately, the Bulls were unable to hold on to their lead in the second half, with APIA Leichhardt scoring in the 58th and 79th minute. In the 88th minute, the Bulls were reduced to 10 after Isabella Volkanovski received a second yellow card. The Bulls held on for the remaining minutes, ending the match in a 2-2 draw.

The Reserves were unfortunately defeated by APIA Leichhardt on Sunday.

The U18s Girls secured a point over the weekend after they drew 1-1 with APIA Leichhardt. Unfortunately, the U14s, U15s, and U16s were defeated.
