NPL NSW Wrap Up

An important victory by our First Grade Women’s team highlighted the weekend’s action, which had spectacular results from the Bulls FC Academy Teams.

The First Grade Women’s team move up to 4th on the ladder after an important win over Football NSW Insitute on Sunday. The match started off strong for the Bulls, with some fantastic chances from Aideen Keane, Amy Chessari and Tamires Souza but it was defender Jessica Seaman who opened the scoring in the 39th minute after a beautiful cross from Aideen Keane allowed Jessica Seaman to tap the ball into the back of the net.

The Bulls had an opportunity to double their lead in the 60th minute, after Avaani Prakash was taken down in the box, awarding the Bulls a penalty. Unfortunately, Avaani Prakash’s penalty kick was saved by Football NSW Institute’s goalkeeper. However, after the penalty save, the goalkeeper from Football NSW Institute shoved Avaani Prakash, resulting in a straight red card and reducing Football NSW Institute to 10 players. This fired up the Bulls to continue their fight. In the 68th minute, the Bulls extended their lead with a fantastic finish from Charlotte Lancaster from outside the box. Aideen Keane sealed the victory for the Bulls in the 86th minute. A beautiful long ball from Isabella Volkanovski allowed Aideen Keane to slot the ball into the back of the net, ending the match with a 3-0 victory for the Bulls. The Reserves fought valiantly on Sunday but were unfortunately defeated by Football NSW Institute.

The U16s Girls secured a point on Sunday after they drew 1 – 1 with Football NSW Institue. Unfortunately, the U14s, U15s, and U18s were defeated at Valentine Sports Park.

The Boy’s team all collected points on Saturday, with the U13s, U14s, U15s, and U16s all defeating Dulwich Hill FC. The U18s shared the points with Dulwich Hill FC after they drew 1 – 1.

It was another tough loss for the First Grade Men’s team after they were defeated by Blacktown City FC on Saturday. Blacktown opened the scoring in the 10th minute, but that didn’t stop the Bulls. Alexander Robinson had another fantastic match, making some excellent saves. The Bulls had some fantastic chances at goal throughout the match, with Mabior Garang having a stunning shot at goal. Blacktown’s efforts to double their lead at the end of the first half were ruled offside.

The Bulls continued to fight throughout the second half but they were unable to capitalise on their chances and secure an equaliser. Blacktown doubled their lead in the 69th minute, despite the Bulls’ brave efforts. The match ended in a 0 – 2 loss for the Bulls. However, the U20s secured three points on Saturday by defeating Blacktown City FC 2-1. Dean Bosnjak orchestrated the comeback for the Bulls, scoring in the 13th and 83rd minutes.
