Rough Night for the Bulls

The Battle of the West ended in heartbreak for the Bulls, who suffered a heavy 4–0 defeat to local rivals Western Sydney Wanderers FC at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

The third and final instalment of the Battle of the West for 2025/26 promised all the drama of a Wild West spectacle, complete with whip crackers, a petting zoo, and cowboys creating a festive atmosphere ahead of kick-off.

The Wanderers drew first blood in the sixth minute through Steven Ugarkovic, catching the Bulls off guard. Mitchell Duke and Luke Vickery tried to spark a response, linking up for attacking moves, but their efforts were repeatedly stifled by a solid Wanderers defence.

The visitors doubled their advantage in the 24th minute, with a controversial moment as the referee appeared to interfere with Brattan’s run, leaving the Bulls frustrated. The Wanderers added a third just before half-time, leaving the home side with a mountain to climb.

The Bulls returned for the second half with renewed energy. Chris Ikonomidis and Harry Sawyer injected pace and creativity, keeping the Wanderers on their toes. Sawyer came close on several occasions, hitting the post and testing the goalkeeper, but luck was not on the Bulls’ side.

Despite their relentless efforts, the Wanderers extended their lead in the 70th minute through Brandon Borrello. The match concluded in a crushing 4–0 defeat for the Bulls, marking a tough night for players and fans alike.
