It’s finally here! The Battle of the West: Rep Your Code kicks off this Saturday as the Bulls take on local rivals Western Sydney Wanderers.
Ahead of the highly anticipated clash, Callum Talbot spoke to the media about how the team is feeling heading into the match.
Reflecting on the Bulls’ huge win over Adelaide United, Talbot said the squad is full of confidence and eager to build on that performance.
“Super confident, we had a great win on Monday and I think we just need to build on that now.”
Looking ahead to Saturday night, Talbot said the team is buzzing for what’s set to be another fiery Western Sydney derby.
“It’s a big game, big three points up for grabs and I think everyone, all the boys are raring to go.”
Derbies always bring extra energy, and Talbot said this one will be no different.
“Derby’s a derby, you don’t really need motivation to get up for these games because there’s the crowds and the atmosphere is unbelievable.”
“Like I said, all the boys are raring to go, we’ve been focusing on ourselves and can’t wait to get out there tomorrow.”
Talbot also spoke about the level of competition within the squad, saying it keeps everyone sharp and pushing to perform.
“It’s healthy, even at training you can see the standard and stuff, no one wants to lose their spot. I feel like someone always creeping down your neck to get your spot is just healthy.”
“There’s going to be ups and downs but if we stick together and stick to what we know and our processes and stuff like that, I feel like we should be good.”
