“We need to get better every week” Bulls captain speaks ahead of Adelaide United clash

Just days after the Bulls’ AFC Cup clash against Shan United, the Bulls are ready to recover and face Adelaide United at Campbelltown Sports Stadium. Captain of the Bulls, Ulises Davila spoke ahead of the clash and what the Bulls are doing to prepare for a tight turnaround.

After a 1 – 1 draw with Melbourne Victory and a trip to Thailand to verse Shan United in a rescheduled AFC Cup match, where the Bulls collected three points, the team is ready to do it all over again on Monday the 4th of December against Adelaide United at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

Ahead of the match, Captain of the Bulls, Ulises Davila, spoke about how the team are encouraging each other while playing two different tournaments at the same time. “I think everyone is pushing each other… and that does bring the team performance up.”

“It is very important to put the team in this league [AFC Cup] and in the eyes of Asia.”

Reflecting on both the Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory A-League matches, where the Bulls drew both fixtures, Davila noted the frustrations from the team around the late equalisers but stated they have taken these as learning experiences; “We are a younger squad, we need to learn, we need to get better every week. So this is part of everything. We need to improve.”

Looking ahead to the Adelaide United clash on Monday, Davila also spoke about how the team has improved from last year. “I think we have been playing more together,” The captain said “We know each other better and I believe that the boys who came this year, they brought a lot of quality.”

“A lot of players bring in something different, that maybe we missed last year, and that made the squad stronger.”

Davila noted that Adelaide United had a strong squad and it is going to be a tough game for the Bulls, but Davila is hoping that the team is ready to start winning games at home, with the confidence from winning the AFC Cup match against Shan United. “It will be a good challenge on Monday to try and get the three points.”
