Bulls Roaring After Defeating BrisbanE

The Bulls secured a much-needed three points on the road with a dominant 5–1 victory over Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

In perfect conditions for football, the Bulls arrived focused and fired up, sticking to their trademark strategy—soaking up pressure and pouncing on the counter. They looked dangerous from the outset, with early chances falling to Chris Ikonomidis and Saif-Eddine Khaoui, both narrowly missing the target.

Despite the strong start, it was Brisbane who opened the scoring in the 28th minute. But the Bulls responded with determination. Just before halftime, Marin Jakolis found the back of the net in the 44th minute, finishing a crisp assist from Khaoui to send the teams into the break level.

The second half saw the Bulls come out even stronger. Harrison Sawyer replaced Ikonomidis at the break, providing a fresh spark up front. In the 53rd minute, Matt Jurman entered the match after Tomislav Uskok suffered a nasty head clash.

The Bulls wasted no time regaining momentum. Jakolis struck again in the 55th minute to give the Bulls the lead, and just seven minutes later, super-sub Jake Hollman added a third with a confident finish in the 68th.

Jakolis wasn’t done yet—he completed his hat-trick in the 73rd minute, marking his first ever in the A-League. The Bulls kept pushing, with Liam Rose, Walter Scott and Daniel De Silva all coming off the bench to help see out the match.

To cap off a sensational performance, Harrison Sawyer scored in the final minute of injury time, sealing a comprehensive 5–1 win and all three points for the Bulls.
